Emmanuel's 30th Anniversary Celebrations

Emmanuel Christian School celebrates 30 years on the Eastern Shore

This year Emmanuel Christian School in Rokeby celebrates 30 years of Christian education on the eastern shore.
As part of the celebrations the school recently held a special assembly, inviting parents, past students, teachers and principals to attend.

Two much loved special guests were past principal, Dirk Petrusma and past principal and current Executive Director of Christian Schools Tasmania, Simon Matthews who spoke of the faith and determination of the founders of the school and the way the school had grown from early beginnings to an excellent school providing quality education to 200 students from Kindergarten to Year 10.

Current Emmanuel Principal, Mr Geoff Hewitt commented that the school continues to thrive with a committed and supportive community. “The school values and welcomes the involvement of parents within the life of the school and it is wonderful to get together and celebrate such a special day with them,” he said.

Students and guests enjoyed listening to descriptions of the way things were in the early days of the school. Much to the delight of students it was pointed out that one of the current staff members at the school was once a student himself.

The sun continued to shine as guests at Emmanuel enjoyed a barbecue lunch and a huge birthday cake in the school courtyard.

The school will be holding its inaugural Twilight Fair and School Expo on Friday March 20 and welcomes members of the public to come along and have a tour and find out what Emmanuel has to offer.

The Twilight Fair promises a couple of hours of fun for all the family and begins at 5pm on the school grounds at Chipmans Road. The fair will feature live music, Oliebollen (Dutch doughnuts), hot foods, activities, displays, a dunking machine and much more.
